FAIR LEGAL FEES

Quality Representation. Transparent Price.

FEES WITH PARAMETERS

Paying for an attorney is a big investment and sacrifice. You deserve good value for your hard earned money. And yet, one of the most difficult answers to find when hiring a lawyer is cost. While there’s a reason for it, it doesn’t help you much. So allow us to demystify pricing at The Heath Law Firm.

While we’ve all heard the wise adage “you get what you pay for,” it doesn’t mean that fees can’t be accessible. We’ll work with you on payment plans and provide pricing options depending on how much legal representation you actually need. Some lawyers charge the same fees no matter how little work is actually needed. We don’t think that’s fair. With intelligent fee parameters, rest assured you’re getting good value for the quality of representation you deserve.

PRICING FAQ:

WHY DON'T MOST LAWYERS POST THEIR FEES?

Unlike gadgets at a store, attorneys don’t sell physical products. They sell their time, talents and expertise. Sometimes, it’s difficult to gage just how much work will go into a case until we know the facts. There are also many other factors that cause the price to vary–complexity, magnitude of potential consequences, number of charges and expertise required to obtain a satisfactory resolution to name a few. This is why many attorneys will ask for a retainer and bill hourly. If an attorney goes beyond the retainer, they’ll bill you for more. The problem with that is you’ll never truly know how much the case will cost until the very end. This is why flat fees are so advantageous.

WHAT ARE FLAT FEES AND WHY ARE THEY GOOD?

I run my practice almost entirely through flat fees. A flat fee is a fixed price that’s realized immediately for the services needed to resolve your case. The biggest advantage of a flat fee is the piece of mind of knowing just how much your case will cost no matter how long it takes to resolve your matter. Even if there are unexpected issues that cause me to put more time into your case, my flat fees will never go up.

Also, my fees are parameter based. You’re only charged a flat fee when certain parameters are triggered. For example, trials are a distinct portion of your case. Many attorneys will charge the same flat fee no matter how much effort is needed. This means that even if you took a plea in your case, you’re paying for a trial you never had. I don’t think that’s fair. It encourages attorneys to collect a bunch of money up front and rush into the first plea. We don’t do that. With smart fee parameters in place, you’ll only pay for the portions in the case that you actually need.

CAN YOU WORK WITH ME ON THE FEES?

Absolutely, but within reason. You’re bottom line is success but fees are often a concern. Let’s face it, hiring an attorney isn’t cheap and this isn’t an investment to take lightly because the potential consequences are serious. You probably weren’t expecting being charged with a crime so there’s some financial shock as well.

I will work with you to stay within your financial goals. I’m also happy to set up payment plans where necessary. But if you’re goal is to find the cheapest lawyer out there, I’m probably not the the attorney for you. That means I don’t cut corners. I work hard to maintain value by passing savings onto you through lower overhead but I also provide professional service at a rate that reflects my experience and numerous successes.

I’m not a client mill either. Your case doesn’t get passed on to a junior associate. I’m it. Every case I take, I handle personally. I’ve handled hundreds of cases and I know just how much time is necessary to get the job done right.

SO HOW MUCH WILL IT COST?

If you hire me, you’ll know right up front just how much the case will cost. I don’t have any hidden fees, period. And although it’s difficult to determine exact fees, check out the table below for rough estimates:
